With the money I "lost" yesterday overpaying to ship a box, I probably saved by digging out the phone number of the location we picked our bike up from and was able to get our maintenance service done for $400 less than the local dealership was quoting.
I probably would have saved the money anyway because I'm frugal like that, but I'm still going to count it as a win.Comment

I just scheduled a free consultation and estimate with a company to possibly install a laminate floor in the room I'm renovating. Also, right now they're having a huge sale that states if you do choose them, they'll do the floors of THREE rooms for the price of one! I was going to do the floor myself, but if these guys can give me a good deal on what I want, PLUS do another room I need to finish AND put in a new tile floor in my bathroom, HELLS YEAH!Comment

Finally managed to install Line on my mobile and PC. After years of being asked 'do you have Line?' by like, everyone.. I can tell them that, yeah, I DO have line actually.
Japanese conversation practice during work hours for the win!! ^^
Also, I've gotten round to joining the 'Friends of Northumberland Park' group. I'm going to be volunteering to look after the victorian herb garden on Friday mornings (night shifts permitting). I can't wait to meet local people and start widening my friendship circle. Before I moved here, I bought a really nice showerhead, the kind with lots of settings & a 5' hose. For some reason it ended up in a closet, still in its unopened packaging, and finally today I installed it. By myself! I had forgotten all about it, dork that I am, LOLsigpic

I just finished assembling another corner desk (just like the one I posted a picture of a page or two back) and built a media center table(from furniture scraps around the house). Even though the room itself isn't fully renovated yet, I set it up to see how they would all look. All in all, I'm extremely pleased. By using things that would have just ended up in the trash, I've created a 4'x10' piece of furniture that has space for two computers, has a 6' long countertop, two drawers, an open shelf, and two cabinets with doors, one on either end. I still have to paint it, but ...
I pretty much have something custom built that would end up costing $300+ if I were to buy it from the store. And I think it's cost me a total of $40 for the screws and paint.Comment

I thought I saw something moving around in my backyard by a big section of foecythia bushes, so I went to investigate. It turns out that a cat I've seen around lately was back there with three kittens! They're all tabbies! They ran from me, which is fine, but I put a Tupperware of catfood out there for them and went back inside. It's not even been 5 minutes and they've already cone out to have a little snack!Comment
