EXACTLY. And even if you're down to skin, you still just sweat and suffer.

Common Sense is not a gift it's a punishment, because you have to deal with everyone who doesn't have it.

This one is really, really unpopular probably, but 9/11 posts drive me crazy for a number of reasons:

1) They're usually pretty insincere.
2) It happened over a decade ago
3) Lots of awful tragedies have happened since then. Heck, lots of awful tragedies have happened in the US since then.
4) On my friends list, most of the people making them are not American. Like, if you're German or from the West Coast of Canada, this was probably not a big, life changing moment for you. It was a terrible thing that happened in another country. Why do you post about it every single year?

It actually was a big moment. I was 8 and I still remember that day because people were terrified. But I'm with you, lots of awful stuff has happened since then.

You want the real reason? Because when terrorism happens to America, it's the most important thing in the world. I didn't make it up. It just is. Americans think we are the center of the world.

And we aren't that far off. Imagine the US completely crumbling. Imagine what chaos the rest of the world would get thrown into. Imagine all the exports that would no longer be paid for by the US. The guns funding other countries war. The drugs funding other countries.

We are important for a lot of horrible horrible reasons. Some of those reasons are horrible because of what they mean. Some are horrible because of what other countries need from us.

We are at times the "lesser evil" and some times the greater evil...take your pick,because some times we are even the greater good...

I was 17 and watched it actually happen on TV. It was shocking at the time and I agree, it was a big moment in history. I just don't think it needs a memorial from people who were not even remotely involved in the event for decades to come.
