    Had to help a kid to the office today - he was hallucinating.

    Not from drugs - I hope he's OK, but this is the age when schizophrenia shows up, and I am concerned about him.

        There is a hornet nest somewhere near the house and it needs to die horribly. I do not appreciate hornets swarming the light right next to the front door and coincidentally the front door when I get home at night.

          It's going to be weird moving from an urban area with about 200 people per sq. mile to an area of 2 people per sq. mile.

          It's going to be very dark and quiet at night.

                I don't understand why so many people anymore want to do a big showy public proposal. It just screams, "Look at me! I'm special and deserve attention!" It also puts the person being proposed to in quite a spot. Seriously, would you want to say no when tons of people are watching? Also, if some of the people watching don't know you, then they probably don't give a crap that you're proposing. What happened to having an intimate proposal? Just the person proposing and the person being proposed to? I just don't get it.

                    I've been really sick with a cold since Friday. I stayed home from work on Friday, but went out and camped all weekend long for a search and rescue exercise. Now, I'm even sicker, and going to the clinic today hopefully. BUT. It's a work day. And I'm going to go to work. But I'm too sick to be at work.

                    I'd stay home, but I'm afraid my boss will be all 'if you're well enough for SAR, you're well enough to work here' ...but that's not how my body works. If I'm outside and it's chilly and I keep moving, I can forget I'm sick for a bit. Now that I'm inside and not doing much, I have a fever, and my cold is moving into my lungs.

                    Bronchitis, here I come!

                      I went and shot sporting clays on Saturday...and my ear is still ringing and I'm worried I've permanently damaged my hearing and I am not happy. I was pretty good at it for a first timer with very little gun experience too. This sucks.

                        Vol, take care of yourself. I think we got that enterovirus and going on a week with it. It has made it to Canada now. It is amazing how quickly these things move.

                        Rowan, the ringing should subside in 1-3 days. It is always wise to use hearing protection when shooting unless circumstances don't allow a couple of minutes to put in the earplugs. There is nothing "cool" about hearing loss.

                                First snake bite of the season tonight, half an hour before close. Young Bengal cat, not fully paralysed yet = will be incredibly difficult to handle tomorrow morning. Though with antivenom it has a very good chance of surviving.

                                Worse part is this is an indoor only cat. The snake was inside their house. Not good.
