    Re: Whatcha thinking about now?

I need a way to tell Google that I never want to have a book by Karen Traviss offered as a reccomendation.
life itself was a lightsaber in his hands; even in the face of treachery and death and hopes gone cold, he burned like a candle in the darkness. Like a star shining in the black eternity of space.

    Yoda: Dark Rendezvous

"But those men who know anything at all about the Light also know that there is a fierceness to its power, like the bare sword of the law, or the white burning of the sun." Suddenly his voice sounded to Will very strong, and very Welsh. "At the very heart, that is. Other things, like humanity, and mercy, and charity, that most good men hold more precious than all else, they do not come first for the Light. Oh, sometimes they are there; often, indeed. But in the very long run the concern of you people is with the absolute good, ahead of all else..."

John Rowlands, The Grey King by Susan Cooper

"You come from the Lord Adam and the Lady Eve", said Aslan. "And that is both honour enough to erect the head of the poorest beggar, and shame enough to bow the shoulders of the greatest emperor on earth; be content."

When I was playing Star Wars The Old Republic, I was in a Mandalorian themed guild, and they were all horrified that I'd never read her in entirity, because I thought her writing was craptacular.

I've heard good stuff about some of her earliest works when editors were still keeping a close eye on her but after that she decided to let her issues with Jedi show up everywhere and she displayed her Mando/Fett fetish frequently and badly. Having experienced some of her later work and seen some of the woman's commentaries, I don't want anything to do with her writing.

            Re: Boring

I gave up work at 47 and now I wonder how I ever found time to do it! When I have time free from studies, maintaining my collections, and household chores, I can always read, listen to music, go for a walk, or even watch a bit of TV.

Why are Adam Sandler movies so addicting? I especially love Grandma's Boy, Wedding Singer, Billy Madison, Happy Gildmore

Just pretend he stopped making movies after them. Because everything else went to crap.

Same way I pretend there are only three Star Wars movies. ONLY THREE. Do NOT test me

I don't know my darling, I have to admit after reading the books considering Luke fell in love with a Sith woman ( I know they went away from the books in the new film) I can't wait to see if Luke went to the Dark Side in this new film, following in his fathers footsteps.... and yes I have my pre-sale tickets for opening night lol

                          Mara was not Sith.

Palpatine's personal assassin/spy/courier? yes. Sith? Mara was raised to believe in something higher than herself and serve it selflessly. Sith of Bane's tradition (and therefore Palpy's) are absolutely terrible at both of those points. Now Luke's son had a thing for a Sith (not of Bane's tradition but I'm not buying all those books to compare them) but that was much later.

I'm so excited about my trip (nervous about my driving!) I can't sleeep.
I'm gonna take half a sleeping pill. I'm taking the bus to the car rental. But I don't want to drag all my stuff. So I'm taking the bus there and driving 15 minutes back to my house to pick up my junk. I've downloaded a non fiction audio book and a total of 8 podcasts to make me feel comfy :shy:

Back in Finland. Tired as an overweight marmot. Carrying a small library on my back yesterday.
