I figure what I remember of the early 80's is lopsided as I was in the military and oversea's until mid 84. Did 3 years stateside in Florida then back oversea's from 88-91. Lots of stuff talked about that people say you have to remember this and I say "Nope" didn't see it, hear it as where I was was often behind the times or on a time lien of its own. It's like Scotland from 79-81 was a combination of punk rock and 60's at the same time.

WAH! The HVAC system is busted in my building with no windows. It was already 78 in here at 0600 when I came in. Its 83 now, at 0900. Its HOTTER THAN OUTSIDE... WTF.

The good news is, its still April. If this was August, I'd be dying.

That sounds like my day yesterday, only the hvac system hasn't been installed yet (new construction) . Only you probably have way more humidity. I hope you get some relief soon.

Thankfully it was fixed around lunchtime...also, the supply guys on the warehouse side of the bldg where may office is were kind enough to open all their bay doors and the all the interior doors to the office sections...it wasn't perfect, but it was better than yesterday's broil.

The "pearl clutching" stereotype is hilarious! Also illogical. Pearls are strung, and actually clutching or pulling on them could easily break the strand. I know this because I broke my mother's pearl necklace while putting it on the morning of my wedding. (One of many signs I failed to pay attention to.)

Shh, they're special strands for clutching.
