Truly,in Junior high I worked the summer for the City. Was called workreation(not sure on the spelling) it was a city thing for Disadvantaged youth to work in the summer. I did Maintenance at the Oakland zoo(And got to interact with the animals)..also did kinda park ranger junior version. Actually was offered a full time gig with the park service after I would have done a few years part time in the summers. I declined,and as you know joined the Navy right after high school.

What was your first job?

Other than babysitting, making sandwiches in a cafeteria-style restaurant in a store at the mall. Back then, almost every store had a lunch counter, a coffee corner, or (the nicer stores) a full-out restaurant.

By job do you mean paying? My first paying job was sorting books at my high school library.
my first job was as a volunteer first aider for the red cross.

First paid job as a minor? I did babysitting.

As an adult? Right out of high school I was working at Burger King! Not flipping burgers though. I had to get to work at 5am and make the salads. NO pre cut lettuce or veggies. I had to do it all by hand.

I helped pack clothes for this fashion designer that's close to the family. It was like a 5-day thing and she gave me a 100$. I did chores for money at one point. Now, my actual job was and is working in retail, I'm 17, so still kinda a minor.

These days the term minor might be a bit more flexible. Times change and kids are exposed to much more,and mature a lot faster,childhood has been put on the fast track.

What was your first job?

First paid job was waiting tables in a hotel that hosted a lot if weddings. I was 16/17 at the time. I volunteered at a horse riding stable from around 14 years old too though. That was for the love of it though, so while the work was quite hard, it probably doesn't count as a job.

I was a Data Entry Operator. I was only there a month, but I was so proud that I got a job. It was after I had graduated from college and it had been so hard to find a job.

Unless you count babysitting at 11 and yard work and gardening at 9/10, working at an frozen custard shop on a work permit starting at 14.

I've been filing my own taxes since I was 14...
