    Definitely prostitution; who cares if consenting adults want to have sex for money??? I don't think it's fair to say what we can and can't do with our own bodies.

        I'm going to assume when you all say 'prostitution' you are removing all sex trafficking from that.

          One of the reasons to legalize prostitution is actually to make attacking human traffickers easier.

          I used to be really for legalization, but I've been learning a lot more about human trafficking lately and I'm not sure it's really the solution now.             Yup, as MO says, the idea is to deal with human trafficking.

              I'm for legalising prostitution too. In addition to making it easier to crack down on trafficking, it would also make it safer for sex workers by providing them with a safe place to work instead of walking the streets, and would also give them access to all the rights the rest of us employed folk are entitled to.

                I wouldn't classify prostitution, seperated from human trafficking, as "victimless" but also not a crime. I see it as more of a class issue. Women who go into prostitution are generally victims of economic circumstance and victims of a system that depresses the working class. Prostitution also turns a woman's body into a commodity. I wouldn't see it as progressive to condone a system that places a monetary value to a woman's sexual worth. Prostitution, in any form, is also one of the most dangerous jobs in the world. We'd rather regulate such work than change social conditions that cause it which always seemed anti-feminist to me.

                Policing, as so often with working class issues, exacerbate problems instead of correcting them. But, yes decriminalization is a positive step.

                I feel much the same way about the drug issue.

                  Yeah - a lot like the 18th century belief that getlemen don't write for money. Writing for money is what the poor hacks do, exploiting their talent for the amusement of the vulgar

                  I'm gonna imagine that there are people who enjoy sex, are good at it, have no weird moral problem about getting paid for what they do well, and would blossum (in the nicest way I can imagine) if they weren't getting a shakedown from some (danger! Class nasty words ahead!) shitty low-life pimp.

                    The most frequent "victim" in actual prostitution is the unsuspecting wife of the client.

                    There are lots of odd little things that are still on the books like the "blue laws" where you can't shop on Sundays, etc., which could be done away with IMO.

                      Legalize psilocybin and everything about it.

                      Legalize prostitution and regulate.

                      Legalize trial by ordeal, but only for those guilty of white collar crime. Blue collar crime should be punished by filling out tax forms.

                        I'm not for certain. I really can't think of any. Selling sex might be one, as long as it is done of the person's free will and that person is old enough.

                          Most of the morality laws could be done away with without harming anyone. Add to those laws that limit the freedom of the individual with regulation only if/when another's freedoms are interfered with.
                          The Dragon sees infinity and those it touches are forced to feel the reality of it.
