When I was young and more attractive, people thought I'd be dumb.

Whenever I speak English to English-speaking people and Germans just assume that because I'm a native English speaker that I won't know German. About half of us do bother to learn German, you jerks. This is happening less and less though, but only because I don't speak English very often anymore.

Hm... I am generally quiet, and people think me antisocial or stupid. I am thin, and many have assumed I must have some sort of eating disorder. I am pretty and feminine, and lots of 'geeks guys' assume that I must be a fake geek girl.

People thought I was dumb because I chose to stay back a year. We had moved to another grade school (in the same city) and the school year was almost over. I chose to stay back because I wanted to be in the same grade as my sister (she's 13 months younger than me). They assumed that I wasn't smart enough when I got on to junior high. I enjoyed graduating the same time my sister did. Even though she is younger than me. It was a unique experience, but I didn't enjoy being bullied because people assumed that I was dumb.

All the time...

I'm vegetarian so people assume I'll judge them or get on my soap box over their choice to eat meat. More often it's ME having to defend MY choice over what I put in my body.

I speak Japanese as a second language so people assume I must be 'one of those anime types'.

I'm a redhead, so people think I'm short tempered. My ex was funny, he said he thought 'all redheads smell bad' (I know, wanker right?).

I'm a northerner so people assume I'm dumb and unsophisticated.

But I'm also educated, so my colleagues think I'm posh and brainy.

I wouldn't say I've ever been a victim, but sometimes I'm just working with a sigil, goth metal in the background, and panda eyeliner and I'll realize I'm every bad movie character of a teenage witch.

I wish I had stayed back a year. I found out that if I'd stayed behind, that extra few months to mature might have been the difference between "let's stick her in special classes so we don't have to deal with this", and "such a bright attentive child"

When I was blonde, I've got to be dumber then a box of rocks if I'm blonde.
Oh you're a redhead, you must be freakin crazy, redheads are crazy, bet you have a temper too .
Working at Lowes and Home Depot from both male and females. I can't possibly know what I'm talking about because I'm a woman with a baby face.
And my personal favorite is being a woman on a hot line in a kitchen, it is just completely inconceivable that not only can i cook but that I am actually good.

Circuit boards, chips, etc. It never made sense to me how you let electricity into a piece of metal/plastic and direct it a few ways here & there and - poof - you're on the internet.
