        Re: Knitting

Bet you could do it if you tried. I got the Stitch n Bitch book by Debbie Stoller and pretty much learnt from that and youtube vids. I also got pointers from Ravelry and people at a knitting group I very occasionally go to. It really isn't that hard

          Re: Knitting

Probably not :P I have a thing against learning! I should have said. I envy folk who can because I refuse to learn because of my gran. She spent the better half of my childhood turning off the TV and trying to teach me to knit. I resent that to this day!! :P So knitting isn't happening because it will make her happy lol.
I can sew though and enjoy doing it. X

Ah fair enough :P I'll let you off then! There's nothing like some early years aversion training to put you off something for life...

...I'm going to try my hand at making a capalet with this stitch in one of the bamboo yarns--they are lightweight super soft and they have a bit of a sheen to them.

I tried the stitch, but failed, will try again with a different wool, it was a cotton that was kind of hard to work with

I had a false start as well. I figured out if you use a needle 1 above the recommend (I'm using Lily Sugar 'n Cream which says to use a 5mm H/8 hook, instead I'm using a 5.5mm I/9 hook) the stitches come out loose enough to work the pattern.
