My dad got some new medicine called in by his primary doctor which is good. He looks like he is feeling better. I'm going on the Nutrisystem Diet tomorrow because my mother wanted me to try it out. It was a special deal on QVC. So I will see how this does. It's not a substitute for lifestyle changes, but I will still try it.
It isn't a substitute for lifestyle changes, but sometimes it helps to take some of the thinking out of it for a while, especially if spending lots of time thinking about food and planning the next meal is part of your particular problem. A structured meal plan where everything is already cooked and portioned is kind of the closest you can safely do to cold turkey when it comes to food. But do give some thought to what you think will work best for you. Doing something important like changing your diet for someone else can lead to regret, even if they have the best of intentions.
I hope your dad's new meds work out. It sounds like he's been through the ringer.

Thanks Prickly Pear. My first day was pretty okay. I had the shake with my breakfast and it just was nasty to me. I did not enjoy it. However, it did keep me fuller for longer, so I can't say anything bad about that. Overall, the day was pretty good. I didn't get all of the four veggies in, just got 3. I didn't do a lot of exercise. I plan to do more tomorrow. I'm getting used to it. Hopefully everything will be better tomorrow. Dad is doing better. Thank goodness.

Tomorrow is Buddy (my parrot)'s 29th "Bird Day" - the day I brought her home. In the morning, I'll bake corn muffins and put candles on them, and take pics. I really look forward to this every year!

Happy birthday, buddy! I've still got one of her feathers from one of our old exchanges. Sits in a jar with other bird feathers I've found. The only parrot feather!

Congrats and Happy birthday!
Well I've been getting a lot of interviews lately. I'm hoping to get a job soon. Got two today, but can't seem to sleep. Wasn't able to sleep yesterday. I had one yesterday to. Keep me in your prayers.

PM me where to send it! I've saved her molted feathers all along and have tons of them. I could build myself another bird LOL
Tried to include a pic of her with her B-day corn muffins but it says I've exceeded my limit. I don't remember how to do pics on this forum since I do them so rarely.

I have a jar too. An eagle feather, snowy owl, Peregrine falcon, the national bird of Nicaragua (it's a blue thing), some ptarmigan, pigeon, raven, etc.
