      Mine ended up being purple and dark green with a splash of yellow. They tooootally fucked my cake up, but there were other things that happened that pissed me off more than just icing colors being wrong

        I had white icing, and provided the ribbon for it so they couldn't fuck it up. Mine was all green, and in the handfast ribbon I had green, taupe-y brown and white braided together.

          My groom picked the colors. But that's because he wore a kilt and there was family tartan to consider.

            Family tartan is cool. I have a mate of mine who's hella Scottish. And his knowledge of his tartan, and crest etc is epic. It's be soo cool to have a crest!

              I got married in a kilt, but it was black ($100 versus several hundred for a tartan). Tha only thing on which I was asked my opinion was what kind of groom's cake did I want. Of course I said "Pie." Lemon meringue it was...

                          In 2006 I had a procedure done that required me to be at the hospital for a total of 12 hours. It was billed at around 45k. (My insurance covered it, but it's still just ridiculously high.)

                              Our current excuse for a government is deriding our NHS at every turn and trying to turn people against it. Why? So they can sell it off to their chums. Makes me sick.

                              Here - for the time being - all health care is free at the point of use. Yes, we pay taxes for it, but it recognises that sometimes people just need treatment. And they do.

                              And what other countries need, IMHO is another Aneurin Bevan. Great Welshman, him.

                                We have public health, and private health. Under the public system, if you need anything, you go on a waiting list, and hopefully it'll happen at some point (a mate tore his ACL, by the time he had surgery, he had learnt to live without it). Private health comes at various prices, with various extras, but the same surgery would have happened immediately. I'm not sure if there would've been any extras, but still. I'm getting private health as soon as I get my tax back. Will cost about $4000, but with my eye issues, the fact that hubby works on roofs and scaffolding for a living, and that I want a family soon (and while I don't care about public vs private, if there's an issue, it pays to be private).
