    being from the UK I think I confused it

    access road...is that a side street ???...back lane ???..snickelway...???

      It was off on me too. The quiz chose Irving, Plano, and Oklahoma City. Never been to any of them.

        Apparently I'm from New York.



        But it did amuse me that for half of my answers the little map was completely blue and the main reason it said New York is that I call tennis shoes 'sneakers'. lol

          The red for me lit up in a belt separating the northern half of the US from the southern half, but had me coming from Washington DC, Baltimore, MD or Lexington, KY.

          Lexington I could kind of understand, because my mother was from Tennessee & my father was from Louisiana. But DC or Baltimore? That's straight up east coast, yo.

              That was funny - it put me spot on in Detroit, specifically (where I grew up), and Michigan generally where I've always lived.

                  Got the west coast,and living in NJ I finally understood why highways are called freeways out west cause of the toll roads here.

                    I thought they called freeways "parkways" on the east coast.

                      There are many names for them,but mainly the fact you have to pay as you go makes them toll roads.

                        Said Philadelphia.... but Delaware had a much brighter red.... I wonder if it knew that Delaware had cities of it's own? Apparently South Jersey was bright red for me too.... (shudder)

                          As to "Parkways" that might apply to New Jersey because of a certain bridge approach now in the news.(parkway as in a parking lot):devilthink of NJ devils sports team)

                            Well it put me in the southeast,. mostly in NC though mine should be Virginia & Maryland specifically. Though moving around a bit I also tend to use words that are not specifically unique to the Southeast anymore. Though the maps flagged on Yard Sell as the word of choice.

                              Mine was yardsale, too. I've heard them called Rummage Sales by people from 'back East'. The words yard sale/garage sale seems to be used interchangeably here in Vegas. All the signs people post say 'Yard Sale', but the newspaper lists them as 'Garage Sales'.

                                from NYc and I got Arlington,Boston and Glendale. maybe I should move to one of these places.
