    The Superintendent is going to each school to tell us that he intends to reopen an already negotiated, accepted, and enforced contract so that he can give us an additional 10% pay cut in addition to the cut we originally took (also 10%).

    I'm already struggling.

    I'm 53 years old. Where am I going to get another job? I already have 3.

        I know I seem to be crying wolf, but the destruction of public education - in favor of "for profit" schools (you know, like college) - has been on the Republican agenda since the 80's. Michigan is being used as the test case because it has a long tradition of very good public education, thanks to the strong unions. What happens here will happen in every state, because if they can kill it here, they can kill it anywhere.

          This is hideous. Not the crying wolf part - that's redeemable. The blow to education; that's unconscionable.

            I wake up lonely every morning, I go most days without saying more than 10 words, and those are usually to a cashier or a receptionist somewhere, and the longer and longer I'm unemployed, the more sharply I feel the pain of not finishing school. And to make it worse, my depression has been causing arguments with my boyfriend, and now I'm making him depressed too.

            I hate life sometimes.


            Mostly art.

              I lied. I'm actually a burnt out cynic trying to pass for optimist, because it feels better.

              The optimism comes in, I guess, because my last kid graduates from public education this year, and I'll be close to dead before the first generation of serfs grows up.

                  Some days I feel people would be nicer and listen to my point of view more if I was considered attractive. This is one of those days.

                    is how you make people pay more attention. Yes, if the super-carrier lacks adequate DAKKA, I can go for better solutions. I'm attempting restraint so we're starting at "lets brutalize small nations" instead of "lets mass scatter offending planets".

                                I have no jeans that fit me. They are all either too tight on my thighs and too loose on my waist or vice versa. I hate it! Jeans are clearly designed to annoy people! x
