So you know how some tv channels play yule logs with music on the morning of Christmas? I woke up to find they are playing a view of our beaches. Weird.

I'd like to know what happened to the Thanksgiving and Christmas day parade that plays each year on TV. They used to be really good when I was a kid. There were tons of floats and a performance sprinkled in here and there.

The ones that played this year were crap. There was not much in the way of floats. It was mainly people flapping their gums and performances by singers that I've never heard of.

What happened to the parades that I remember from my childhood? They've gone so downhill since I was little.

Because I've had 3 fays off in a row(tomorrow being the third day) I purposely had to go ride my bike this afternoon. Then later about 7pm I walked to the mini mart for a diet dr pepper. I feel if I'm not on my bike daily, I won't go to sleep!

Did I mention I love my bike?

New Year's resolutions. I don't usually bother, but I feel the need for a fresh start. This coming year I plan to buy second hand things only (wherever possible), building up some savings and commit random acts of kindness.

How do I change my mind frame? For the last 5 years I have been a Pastry Chef and I think like one. Now with the move back to Dallas I took a floating position, meaning I float where ever I'm needed. Pastry or the line, and for at least the next three weeks its all Line work. I like the work and am glad for the job but I don't have any of the confidence I have as a Pastry Chef, and I hate lacking confidence. Its also a completely different game as a Line Cook. There's no exact measurements or exact times. Its to eyeball or taste and feel. How do I change myself... ?
