I'd say be a Horror (most of the perks, far less work), but I am a possessive Horror and I will not respond well to any infringement on my soul farm.

Don't worry, Masked. If I decided to farm souls, I'd find another site.

It's probably my favorite song of his. Definitely one of them.

Re: What Are You Thinking About?

That listening to tv's version of a computer specialist attempt to do computer forensics is hilarious.

Just as an fyi to scriptwriters, if I have your computer in a lab lavishly funded by the US government, I'm not gonna turn it on. I'm gonna pull out the hard drive attach it to a write blocker and double it then I'll see if I can get into* the copy, if yes then cool, if no then I'll try something else. If something I'm doing breaks the copy then I will make another. This process continues until I get in or give up. If for some reason, I need to turn your computer on then it will be after I have an exact duplicate of your hard drive marked "do not write to on pain of death". NO WHERE in this procedure do I willingly embark on a course of action remotely capable of destroying the data I want unless I am absolutely sure that your hard drive will literally self destruct on removal from it's case AND I'm equally sure that I (and a small army of technicians that I'll be drafting) have no way of preventing said self-destruct. This is not complex, this is basic "you are not qualified to open your mouth about digital forensics if you violate" practice. Why do your super techs not know it?

                  < end rant >

*and by get into I mean read because software to read a drive image without turning on the OS of said drive is actually a real life thing and free in some cases

Do I want to know what they're getting wrong? All wiki says is blood build-up in an area of the brain and anything above limited first aid is over my head.

Trying to shop around the revised and edited versions I've made of all my plays, but don't really know where to start. (If any of you know any theatre people, High School, College, or Pro anywhere in the world I'd love to get in touch with them.) I'm basically my career right now, for good and ill.

Also, I'm playing a lot of Skyrim lol.... Fus Ro Dah.
hey look, I have a book! And look I have a second one too!

It's just that it must be a phrase that many actors can memorize, because they use it non-stop! Esp. in older shows, it happened in every episode, seemed like! LOL Guess it sounds official and important.

The placement of my next tattoo, my best friend and I are getting the down syndrome butterfly. This past year her Uncle who was very dear to me passed away and its been a rough time for both of us, and as a way to help the healing process I told her we needed the butterfly tattooed on us. So in the next few weeks we shall be sporting our beautiful blue and yellow ribbon tattoos.

It's a terrible cliche more than anything. Any head trauma could potentially cause a subdural haematoma, which is potentially fatal, but you need a CT or MRI to diagnose it. And until we manage to replace doctors eyes with mini computed tomography devices, your average ER doc is not going to be yelling "he's got a subdural haematoma" after five seconds with the patient.

This is also why I can't take hospital or forensic shows seriously anymore. Because I know she's not working that crime scene or doing that autopsy in her heels, with her hair flopping all around and her jewelry on. Oh I'm sorry... she put gloves on... well that's ok then.

Re: What Are You Thinking About?

Writers can't really know all that stuff, because they're writers and don't do those jobs and TV doesn't allow enough time to immerse yourself into the kind of research necessary to totally fake it. Really good shows hire consultants to go through scripts, correct the errors, and offer advice to make the show more realistic. Of course, lots of shows don't bother with those people, which is why you get "fake doctor" and "fake hacker" situations where almost anyone with any experience can totally see through them.

Sometimes, they also just use things because it looks/sounds cool. I'm guessing that with the hard drive situation, turning on a computer and having stuff pop up on the screen is a lot more visually appealing than copying a hard drive, even if it isn't realistic
