    This audiobook I'm reading is 16 hours long. And it took me over a week to listen to just the first 8 hours. It's such an emotional book *zombies duh* that I can only take bits of it at a time. I listen. Something amazing happens. I gasp. Then I put it down to soak it all up.

      So, after a year of looking, I've got one job offer and another that is very close to being so. I had to job shadow for the second one yesterday and I think it went very well. It's cleaning medical instruments. A limited number of team members but otherwise? No people! Yay! and it's close enough I could bike to it. I'm really excited. The first offer I got is working with Goodwill, as a job coach. I'm happy to be out of the casino, but I'm not particularly excited about the job itself, and it's twenty minutes away in the next town (better than the 45minute to the casino). So frigging excited to be done at the casino though. I can't even describe it. I never, ever have to go back to that place! Wooo!

            Oh my oh my oh my...

            Nasty conversation with a parent today.

            One of the local degenerate hillbilly families (can you squeal like a pig?). This is the local shit family - you know, Christmas is spent visiting maw & paw & granma & granpaw & auntie & such at the state prison, and the kids are all on tethers by the time they're ten.

            I'm not a big fan of eugenics, but there are some exceptions (maybe after enough generations of daddy being the father of sissy's bouncing baby, it's worth considering whether there may be some glitches in the genetics).

            Maybe this is a rant?

            But it's what I'm thinkin'.
            Every moment of a life is a horrible tragedy, a slapstick comedy, dark nihilism, golden illumination, or nothing at all; depending on how we write the story we tell ourselves.

                    I did it in just under 3 hours, and parts of the road aren't paved. On a road bike. Turns out road bikes aren't meant to be ridden in gravel. But that won't stop me from doing it again and again!

                              I so miss having smaller children, but I so love seeing what they've become.

                              It's a two edged sword, and both edges cut so beautifully.
