    Re: Whatcha thinking about now?

Yeah because they're like single threads that people comment on. They're not like this, where all the conversations are all together and you can browse and bounce back and forth.

But I'm an archaeologist. I'm always nostalgic for something.

I'm gonna be the most insufferable old lady talking about the 'good old days'. Especially the ones that I wasn't even alive to see.

I was oversea's for the BBS trend so only touched on it in a limited way. Yet still recall a lot of the early net stuff when AOL was the main front door to get onto the net.

Oh damn. My tired brain is turning to the emotional side after reading this. That kitten must be a tough one. <3

          This train is not moving.
          ..oh wait. IT IS.
          Yay!
(I checked the website of the national railway company and found an encouraging statistic "0/1 trains on schedule". How promising is that?)

Here's a full story with details someone posted about little Cassidy kitten. If this doesn't bring tears to your eyes ...

I sort of see that in the aspect that tumblr and other social media groups come and go while many of the groups have sort of vanished.
It's definitely underground. At least among younger people. It's a fight against the current to try to be active in a community off of the internet.

I love forums, and the access to the information that the internet provides. I just hate that in a way it provides people with just enough community interaction that they're not motivated to seek out beyond that.

I actually am attending my first-ever meetup on Sunday, and I've been pagan for 18 years. My town is suuuuuper conservative and extremely Christian so we keep to ourselves mostly. The internet is the only place where I felt I could talk openly for years. MysticWicks gave me that.

Got my new OnePlus 2 phone. Due to a dumb mistake on my part I now have my sim card stuck (as in, can't get it out) in my new phone and lost the nano sim card tray for the new phone. In my car.

Took it to the phone store and she just looked at it and said she couldn't help me. She didn't even try. Seriously wtf. Now I don't have any phone until I get my sim card unstuck.

Edit: Sim card is unstuck... Now to procure a new sim card tray. Hubby even helped me turn the car inside out and upside down, looking for the damn thing. Nowhere to be found. I don't understand how it can just disappear. All the windows were up and doors were closed. I checked the ground before I got out just to make sure it didn't fall while shifting around the car. Checked under all the seats and mats. Between the seats and in the folds. Grrr

                        Re: Whatcha thinking about now?

Internet is absolutely awesome because I can interact with people whom I'd likely never meet in real life, completely without the distraction of differences in life style.

I like people so much better when I can't smell them.

Every moment of a life is a horrible tragedy, a slapstick comedy, dark nihilism, golden illumination, or nothing at all; depending on how we write the story we tell ourselves.

                          This.

Also my tarot readings lately have been pretty foreboding. Apparently my personality might be a problem, lol

I used to be this way too. Only recently have I really started to appreciate the grounding effect of having another "body" nearby.

But I'm an oddball in so many ways.

I think I sussed out one of the major underlying factors of my recent anxiety issues. It doesn't fix the issue, but helps to put it into perspective a bit.

LOL - "smell" is a general term I use for all kinds of biases - accents, verbal style, modes of expression, clothing & body morphology, etc., that create unconscious biases.

Via the Internet, I can avoid preconceived notions of "what a person is like," and experience them from a more stable intellectual stance.

Thinking I hope my rice turns out ok. I'm doing half a box order so I can have it fresh and not have a whole box of rice sitting in my fridge for just me alone.

I hope it turns out ok because I'm hungee.
