    Trying to help my best friend get ready for a big larp next week. Would anyone happen to have a pdf of a game of thrones 'littlefinger' kind of coat lying around? Because we can't find any -.- or at least a tutorial or something.

          Why exactly is Gaia remembered as the mother goddess figure when Rhea fits the archetypical role in the actual Greek pantheon and Gaia is (by nature of being a primordial) neutral at best and antagonistic to the Olympians at worst.

            I've never seen Gaia identified as an actual mother goddess figure, only as the literal Earth, and (by extension) as a Mother Earth figure (which is not the same, imo, as a Mother figure). I'm sure there are people that treat Gaia-as-Mother-Earth as a personal Mother figure, I just don't know any of them or their reasoning. All of which could be mistaken for the use of the imagery of Gaia used for Mother Earth as a goddess--something I've seen many times..

            Also, there are a number of people that reject the Olympian deities in favor of earlier deities in general.

              It's obviously more of a neo-pagan thing but, I've def seen Gaia treated as benevolent mother of all things and the conflation of mother earth with mother goddess is really ... well inaccurate. The rose tinted view aside, Gaia isn't a terribly nice figure in myth.

              At least the Olympians mostly care about humanity, while Gaia, in revenge for the death of the titans and/or anger at the ruling of the Olympians, has produced beings that caused some of the most dramatic events in Greek myth. The war between the various children of Gaia and the Olympians produced so much collateral damage I cannot understand why she would be viewed kindly. Not even touching the titans, the gigantes and (especially) Typhon are arguably the most dangerous and fearsome monsters in Greek myth and they existed to essentially destroy the current world order.

                  How come I'm sitting here at 11:27pm with a soaking wet night gown so I can keep from boiling? And I have to re-soak it about every 20 minutes. How come it's going to be 100 tomorrow? How come we even need to know when it's over 90? It's hot! That's all you need to know. Knowing it's 90 or 95 doesn't help me.

                    Exactly like that. He ordered that pattern, but it's still not here (Denmark. With any luck it'll be stuck in customs for 2 weeks because it's shippee from the US) and he's leaving for poland on tuesday... so we really need to work fast.

                        My damned folliculitis has come back and I hope the doctor called in an antibiotic yesterday. I called twice plus sent a message the day before. So I hope I have a medicine waiting for me when I pick up my other medicines today. Ugh!

                              He's thinking 4 years ahead. Cruz is young enough to run again, and if Trump wins, he'll run for re-election, if not, he'll have at least one of his kids groomed & ready to take his place. He's following Joe Kennedy's example and legitimizing his family name in the political arena, hoping to create a new dynasty.

                              Or not. He may not be that smart, and may just be bullying the guy. I dunno!
