I don't know about spreading ashes on a body of water. I was referring to building a raft, placing my body on it, and sending it down the river whole. That practice has always fascinated me. It's very beautiful. And in my mind it's returning my body to nature in a very real way. But that is definitely illegal. Doesn't matter how many dead animal end up in a river, a human body is a no no.

That doesn't make the question null and void.

If you were to have one.
I guess if I had to have one I would want it to read something like "I lived with purpose and I died with purpose. Into the afterlife I move with purpose." I wouldn't want my name on it, or birth and death dates.

Shape-shifting. Whatever form that may take.

I wondered if he could ever understand that it was a blessing, not a sin, to be graced with more than one love.
It could be complicated; of course it could be complicated. And it opened one up to the possibility of more pain and loss.
Still, it was a blessing I would never relinquish. Love, genuine love, was always a cause for joy.

All of the stuff about mandrake. That it screams loud enough to kill the person trying to dig it up, so it has to be pulled out of the ground by a dog while the harvester is a good distance away. That if an impure person tries to dig it up, the root will run away... That it's a powerful medicine that can heal all but death... and they look & dance like little people

              I think that

being literally and obviously true would be awesome. At least it would be right up until we managed to exterminate ourselves with clerics using marching mountains as weapons of war.
life itself was a lightsaber in his hands; even in the face of treachery and death and hopes gone cold, he burned like a candle in the darkness. Like a star shining in the black eternity of space.

              Yoda: Dark Rendezvous

"But those men who know anything at all about the Light also know that there is a fierceness to its power, like the bare sword of the law, or the white burning of the sun." Suddenly his voice sounded to Will very strong, and very Welsh. "At the very heart, that is. Other things, like humanity, and mercy, and charity, that most good men hold more precious than all else, they do not come first for the Light. Oh, sometimes they are there; often, indeed. But in the very long run the concern of you people is with the absolute good, ahead of all else..."

"You come from the Lord Adam and the Lady Eve", said Aslan. "And that is both honour enough to erect the head of the poorest beggar, and shame enough to bow the shoulders of the greatest emperor on earth; be content."

Either that people are basically good, or happy endings. I can't decide.

Story book happy endings, or massage parlour happy endings?
Trust is knowing someone or something well enough to have a good idea of their motivations and character, for good or for ill. People often say trust when they mean faith.

Story book. I was thinking of fairy tale endings but without the "happily ever after" paradox.
