    Re: THE RANT THREAD!

The only interpretation I've ever taken from such dancing is that they've made some wrong decisions in their lives.
Trust is knowing someone or something well enough to have a good idea of their motivations and character, for good or for ill. People often say trust when they mean faith.

I wasn't particularly entertained by the opening and it was the only thing I intended to watch. Now I have to find ways of avoiding the olympics as much as I am able, until it is finally over and I can go back to watching breakfast telivision in peace. It was always such a welcome wind down at the end of my shift and I really miss that.

Oh I did enjoy the bit with the Queen though. Showed Her Nibs has a sense of humour.
夕方に急なにわか雨は「夕立」と呼ばれるなら、なぜ朝ににわか雨は「朝立ち」と呼ばれないの? ^^If a sudden rain shower in the evening is referred to as an 'evening stand', then why isn't a shower in the morning called 'morning stand'?

I live in London. I can't avoid the damn thing. That said, I did have a bit of fun blasting the blues and two's right through a street party while doing no more than 10mph. Evil, but I loved it.

I don't know if their history was the right angle for the Olympics. A lot of the countries they oppressed during colonization are competing. They also mentioned the wars, which can still kind of be a sensitive issue in Europe. I would have just focused on pop culture. The Sgt Pepper dudes were brilliant. They could have done a thing focusing on British pop culture through the ages. I think it's less touchy and more accessible to an international audience.

            Fixed for accuracy.

Frankly, it didn't go far enough, IMHO; they should have forced all the bloody ex-Colonists to kneel before HM, while Bond stood ready to shoot anyone who didn't show the proper respect to their betters...

Oh lighten up everyone, this isn't the Oscars or whatever. I liked the part with all the flags, so awesome!

How in heck did another SB'er get into PaganForum??

That said, much as I enjoy your nation, it's not big enough to start that fight. Don't worry though, we'll spend enough time bent over laughing that it looks close enough on camera and still point a ridiculous number of missiles at anyone that takes too much offense.

SB refers to another board I frequent. Doc Strange reminded me of some UK members with that line. In the absence of another US member (of SB not PF) to answer such a line, I provided mine.
