I am so sick of Easter and all the people who aren't Christian but who are celebrating it anyway. Everywhere I go online and offline it's being shoved down my throat.

Ostara is the real celebration, which is the spring equinox. As it has already come and gone, Easter is nothing more than a fake holiday to me. Though, I'll still participate in the "get drunk for the savior" part of it.

Hart of Dixie, aired on CW.

They smushed at least 2 years worth of content into one finale episode. I'm not entirely sure if I feel robbed, or just sad. And while the end is probably what it would have all come down to anyway in the long run, you just miss the whole journey.

I am so sick of Easter and all the people who aren't Christian but who are it anyway. Everywhere I go online and offline it's being shoved down my throat.

In some places, it's a very, very secular holiday. I don't want to offend anyone. but here (in Berlin, not the rest of Germany...parts of Germany are HIGHLY religious) it has about as much to do with Jesus as German Unity Day. Even the hardcore former communists celebrate it. It's sort of like Christmas that way.

Personally, I've learned to disassociate it with religion. I think holidays can evolve, and Easter is one of those holidays over here. It's a 4-day weekend where pretty much everyone has time off and can go see their families. Our whole family is here from all over the German-speaking world, and it's lovely.

If you don't want to celebrate it, nothing against you. Which holidays you celebrate are up to you. But I don't think it's fair to say that people who aren't Christian shouldn't celebrate it. It's like saying that people who aren't Christian can't celebrate Christmas (which is also a VERY secular holiday in a lot of the world).

So apparently Easter means come to the tool store. All day. For hours.

I had to chase (and I do mean walk/run) a couple who were rolling down the street with one of our shopping carts. I'm like COME BAAAAAAAAAAAAACK THAT'S MIIIIIIIIIINE.

Those things are like $200 a pop!

And I called IT to fix something and the dude when crazy on me yelling at me over something I don't know about. And he's like YOU PRESSED THE BUTTON! And I'm like dude, I just called to report the register not working. And he's like YOU AREN'T SUPPOSED TO PRESS THE BUTTON! And I'm like uh....backs away from phone. And he's like WHO IS YOUR MANAGER ON DUTY?! And I just had enough. I am the manager on duty. Would you like to keep on yelling at me? And I hung up.

I e-mailed my district manager. I mean seriously. Xanax my friend. Xanax is in your future.

What a day.

I totally understand... It's also the day to bring a boatload of kids to the bookstore so they can scream and run and trash the place.

On a different note, people who cba to put in the time, money, or energy to take care of their cat when she starts acting out from either a medical problem or stress (or who knows what else) should never have gotten a cat in the first place.

Everything here is closed on Easter except a few cafes, gas stations, and hotels (and the obvious necessities like hospitals and police services). Most non-necessary places (ie things that aren't hospitals and such) pare down their service for the holidays and operate on the absolute minimum of staff. Good Friday and Easter Monday, too. It's glorious.

It's glorious.

The little shop I work at was the only shop open in the local area (on Sunday), we turned over 4x the amount the shift is usually worth, it was absolutely crazy! xP

Well, when I was in my late teens and early 20s, the term "hipster" was just starting to be cool, and it usually meant modern counterculture people who liked indie music, were involved in the arts scene somehow, and kind of lived at least slightly outside of the mainstream (or were students). Kind of like beats in their day, or hippies in their day, just different music and clothes. Now, it doesn't seem to really mean anything at all. I suppose that was true of the hippies too, though.

Not too much of a rant but an observation. On the metro bus in LA and the tattooed girl is the girl no one wants to sit next to? Really? I'm scarier then the old asian lady with the bee keeper's hat and lavender face mask sitting on her newspaper because of 'germs'? Really really?

For FOUR weeks my best friend has not spoken to me. Four weeks! Quick background info she is recently divorced from a man that I dislike and for good cause hes a dirt bag, and she has a set of 5 year old twins. She has entered the dating world and a month and a half ago she had found a guy whom she really really liked. He was interested in her and he was interested in her girls. He was a good man. Then all of a sudden she has a huge fight with him hes awful horrible and just bad. Next thing I know shes not talking to me. Two days ago she calls and acts like nothing has happened in a month. She causally drops that this weekend shes going to see him in Louisianan and going to a military ball with him.
Now its 11:30 at night and I just get a call from her in tears. Shes on her way back from Louisianan and things haven't gone as planned and hes been cheating. She also confesses that I hadn't done anything wrong but that she wouldn't talk to me because she knew I wouldn't approve of her trying to make things work with him.
So hears my question when do I get to say I told you so? When do i get to say why wont you listen to me? When do I get say why wont you listen to yourself?? Why the hell do I get thrown to the side and am no longer a friend because she she stops using her freakin head. This man has never put anyone first but himself. He didn't keep his girls by himself until after they were 3 because he didn't want to.
