So I finally bit the bullet and put in an intro email to a cat volunteer place. It's called Kitty Bungalow. I've volunteered to be a charm school teacher. To teach lil kittehs how to behave. With care and lots of cuddles. In fact my official title would be cat cuddler. I hope I get in.
Kitty cuddling is the best! I hope you get in also!

Also, I love your shower curtain... is that weird?
It's my roommate's shower curtain. I have a love/hate relationship with it. Some of the places are spelled wrong, and the territory where I live is woefully blank of place names...

PS: I don't actually name my hair. I lied. His name isn't Frank. But I did tie a blue string around it so I can keep track of Dread #1's progress!

My daughter was able to (mostly) comb hers out. It took a few weeks, though.

Full on youtube tutorials in how not to destroy your hair. Hell they have salons that take them out for you in worst case scenario.

I remember Rafe wanting dreads and then having that 'accident' with them though. So yeah. No dreads for me.

I had a friend that got corn rows done(She was black,so she had a friend that talked her into doing them) I think the person doing them did not really know how to properly do them. Long story short, they started hurting like hell(most likely done wet,and to tight) so it took me like 3 hours undoing them for her.

This is so old lady of me. But finally MediCal has a new updated computer system. And they have a member's website. When I log in I can see all my medications, all my visits, all my notes and lab results. It's so awesome! It even let's you link to your calendar. Thank gawd I looked into it. I have a podiatrist appointment in October I didn't even know about!

Re: Things that make you smile

A number of things that don't, but a few that do:

                        - I have a lunch date with a lady on Friday. A beautiful, intelligent, gorgeous lady who I am totally smitten with, and have been trying to figure out how to get to know her better for months.

                        - I tied a string to my little dreadlet the other day, and have since noticed that a few more have followed.

                        - I had a really rough day today, and my dog gave me some serious cuddles when I got home.

                        - I had a friend surprise visit me because he knows I've been addicted to Bioshock Infinite lately, and he figured if he just showed up, he'd catch me playing. So we played video games for a bit.

                        - I BOOKED A FLIGHT HOME OMG. I'm gonna visit home at the end of October for the first time in two years.

                        - I have an appt with a bankruptcy specialist next week. This doesn't exactly make me smile, but I'll feel a lot better knowing if I have other options, and if not, then just being rid of my debt, regardless of the cost (to my self worth/credit score/dignity).

                        - Going camping this weekend with the roomie and the dogs.

                        - Grandma-parcel arrived today. Filled with ethnic food, homemade cream, and chocolate. And the box smells like her. (my grandma is a hippy. She doesn't have old lady smell. She has delicious jasmine and patchouli smell.)

...there's a lot wrong in my life. But I think that's a pretty good list to recognize among all the crap I'm dealing with.

I've been anxiety free for long enough to start believing that I've beat it! It seemed too good to be true at first, but I really seem to have regained control over my thoughts and emotions. I don't even think I've chubby anymore!!! In fact, my relationship with my physical body is much better. I treat it with respect and kindness now. I assumed the most I could hope for would be being able to look in the mirror and not hating what I see, but actually, I quite like my body shape now, curves and all!

Our flat feels so much warmer and homely now that I have a stronger bond with the spirits there. They have a demanding nature, but they reward my compliance to their demands manifold. I couldn't settle before and was constantly tidying, but I've discovered that so long as the kitchen is clean, clutter free with dishes done and put away, the rest of the flat can be 'lived in' and still feel fresh and comfortable. It's a tiny kitchen too, so this isn't hard to achieve.

My routine is still fairly rigid, but only because it has to be because of my work pattern. I'm not OCD about the order I do things in now. I'm still meditating every day, but just for 10 minutes, and after the stability it has brought to my mind, why ever would I stop.
夕方に急なにわか雨は「夕立」と呼ばれるなら、なぜ朝ににわか雨は「朝立ち」と呼ばれないの? ^^If a sudden rain shower in the evening is referred to as an 'evening stand', then why isn't a shower in the morning called 'morning stand'?
